New Mercedes-Benz SLK to premier at Geneva Motor Show
Stuttgart, Germany – The second generation Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class sports car will be seen by the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Mercedes released photos of the new SLK earlier this year, and has so far received over 7,000 orders for the car.
In Europe, prices for the SLK-Class range from 33,524 euros for the entry-level model to 63,974 euros for the AMG model. Three different engines are offered, including the first V8 in the SLK, a V6 and a supercharged four cylinder.
The new SLK has an improved “vario-roof” convertible hardtop which lowers in just 22 seconds, and new standard head/thorax side airbags, adaptive front airbags and two-stage belt force limiters. The car’s chassis, steering and manual transmission have been given a sportier edge, while the interior features the world’s first neck-level heating system.
The new SLK goes on sale in Europe on March 27th.
