Auburn Hills, Michigan – The Chrysler Group has announced that it will build the all-new 2007 Chrysler Aspen, a full-size, eight-passenger SUV, at its Newark Assembly Plant in Delaware. The Aspen will feature a 5.7-litre Hemi V8 engine with fuel-saving multi-displacement system.
The Newark plant was given the flexibility to produce more than one model during a recent retooling for the Dodge Durango, partly financed by a US$180 million investment in the plant. Later this year, the plant will begin building the Aspen alongside the 2007 Dodge Durango. The plant has about 2,000 employees.
