Richmond Hill, Ontario – Sales of new cars and light trucks rose 6.6 per cent in June 2011 when compared to June 2010, according to industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers.

Light trucks had the highest increase, at 7.0 per cent, while passenger cars rose by 6.2 per cent.

Domestic nameplates rose by 11.8 per cent, while import nameplates were up only 1.7 per cent, due to large drops by some of the Japanese automakers.
