Ingoldstadt, Germany – The second generation of the Audi TT Coupe has gone into production at the company’s plant in Gyor, Hungary. The new sports car will be launched in September, 2006.

A total of 230 million Euros have been invested in the TT’s production, including 20 million Euros allocated primarily to new assembly plant equipment at Audi Hungaria in Gyor; the TT goes through the body and paint shop stages at the Audi plant in Ingoldstadt. The Hungarian facilities employ about 800 workers and production capacity will be higher than that of the predecessor model, with 20,000 Audi TT Coupe models expected by the end of 2006.

The new TT Coupe will be available with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder or 3.2-litre V6, and features the lightweight Audi Space Frame and active damper system Audi magnetic ride. The all-new TT Roadster will follow at the beginning of 2007.
