1,927 serialized units were only available through online purchase
After showing off the all-new, second generation Volvo XC90 at an event in Sweden, Volvo put the initial 1,927 “First Edition” units up for sale online on Wednesday.
Within 47 hours, they were all spoken for, with most of the units sold within the first hour of the ordering process going live.
“The first buyers signed up for their favourite number in milliseconds. The rapid response confirms that the XC90 is a truly iconic car model. The First Edition will be a collectors item in the future,” said Alain Visser.
Buyers had the ability to choose between a straight-up 320-hp twin-charged four-cylinder or a hybrid Twin Engine model with 420 hp.
