Canadians will get their first glimpse of the 2002 Acura 3.2TL Type S high-performance sedan at the Canadian International Auto Show, February 16 to 25th.
With a dual-stage induction system, 24 valves and Acura’s Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control (VTEC), the TL Type S boasts 260 horsepower – the highest output V6 in its class and the fastest Acura sedan yet. The high-performance 3.2 litre engine also provides a maximum 232 lb.-ft. of torque between 3500 rpm and 5500 rpm for excellent mid-range acceleration.
The new TL Type S also features a sport-tuned suspension, V-rated all-season high-performance tires on 17-inch alloy wheels, standard Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) system and an interior environment designed for driving enthusiasts.
The 3.2 TL Type S looks the part of a serious sports sedan with an aggressive front end, crisp lines and clean taillights. The outside mirrors have been designed to cut through the air and reduce wind noise.
In typical Acura tradition, the 3.2TL Type S provides as much luxury as it does performance. The standard perforated leather seating, wood-patterned trim and in-dash Bose 6-disc CD changer add to the rich, warm ambience. Other standard amenities include memory driver’s seat and mirrors, adjustable headrests and an auto up/down driver’s window with anti-pinch feature.
The 2002 3.2TL Type S will be available this spring.
