Montreal, Quebec – Canadian drivers with an aptitude for auto repair are invited to enter the NAPA Rally 5000, which will run from Calgary to Montreal this August.
Teams will face off against each other in a competition of DIY supremacy, while racing across the country to make the finish line on time. The rally leaves Calgary on August 13, and will cover close to 5,000 km before finishing on August 26 in Montreal during the festivities surrounding the NAPA Auto Parts 200 at Montreal’s Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.
Five teams representing British Columbia, the Prairies, Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes will vie for a grand prize of $15,000. They must cover a specific number of kilometres each day, plus deal with mechanical issues on the cars provided to them.
To sign up as a team or individual candidate, visitbefore June 14. Candidates will be interviewed once applications are selected, with one team chosen to represent each region. All costs will be covered for the teams selected.
