Mr. Lube enters Vancouver Half-Marathon in memory of company leader
Vancouver, British Columbia – Mr. Lube is assembling a national team to participate in the Scotiabank Vancouver Half Marathon and 5K Walk on Sunday, June 25. The team will run in memory of the late Ted Ticknor, chairman of Mr. Lube, who passed away from prostate cancer in May.
“Ted was passionate about providing leadership from the private sector to help the Prostate Centre at Vancouver General Hospital spearhead new treatments,” says Bill Ticknor, President and CEO of Mr. Lube, and brother of Ted Ticknor. “In addition to our Foundation’s recent donation, our team participation is a way of honouring his wishes.”
In May, Mr. Lube donated $1 million through the Mr. Lube Foundation for prostate cancer research at Vancouver General Hospital. Proceeds from the marathon will also benefit the hospital’s research. For more information on the marathon, visit www.canadarunningseries.com/svhm.
