Toronto, Ontario – A Harley-Davidson rally in Calgary this weekend will honour deployed Canadian troops, and will include the presentation of a customized motorcycle to the Canadian Forces Personnel and Family Support Services.

Deeley Harley-Davidson, the exclusive distributor of the brand in Canada, expects more than 50,000 National H.O.G. members to attend the event, which runs August 13 to 15.

As part of the festivities, an estimated 800 participants will ride in a formal motorcycle parade at Canada Olympic Park on August 15. Escorted by the Calgary police, the parade will end at the recently-opened Military Museums. At 11:15 a.m., a specially-customized motorcycle will be presented to the Personnel and Family Support Services.

“I am constantly surprised by the generosity and the altruism that our H.O.G. members throughout the country show in their incessant efforts in fundraising and charitable events,” said Don James, chairman and CEO of Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada. “So I will be extremely proud on our end to have the opportunity to be able to show a little corporate citizenship and unveil a motorcycle which will represent our ‘Thanks to the Troops’.”

The company also announced that it will offer a $500 Canadian Parts & Accessories/GM credit to any regular or reserve forces member with the purchase of a new, previously untitled motorcycle, and members of the armed forces who already own a motorcycle will receive an extended warranty that will cover the number of days they were deployed, to account for the balance of the remaining warranty period.
