Tokyo, Japan – In order to keep up with demand for the Outlander SUV in Europe, Mitsubishi Motors has announced that it will transfer production of the Outlander for European markets from Japan to the Netherlands. The Outlander will move to the company’s regional production hub in Born during 2008.
The company made the decision to ease strain on production capacity at the Mizushima Plant, which also produces the Lancer for worldwide sales.
The Netherlands plant currently manufactures the Colt, the company’s best-selling model in Europe. The Outlander will be produced at the plant until the model reaches the end of its life cycle.
