Mississauga, Ontario – Mitsubishi Motors in Japan has revealed an exterior image of the production version of the Lancer Evolution high-performance sedan. The Evolution will go on sale in the first quarter of 2008, the first time the model has ever been available in Canada.

The Evolution’s styling was first suggested with the Concept X, unveiled at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show and also seen at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto in 2007, and later reinforced with the Prototype X, shown at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 2007.

The development concept for the all-new Evolution specifies “a next-generation high-performance 4WD global sedan that allows all levels of driver to enjoy the car’s speed and handling with ease and in safety.” The new model features Mitsubishi’s s-AWC traction and handling system and a new, lightweight, high-performance 2.0-litre turbocharged MIVEC3 engine with aluminum block and six-speed automated manual transmission.
