Ottawa, Ontario – Transport Canada has released its latest recalls, which may affect some Mitsubishi and Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

On certain vehicles, the brake booster check valve may stick closed when the engine is shut off. When the vehicle is restarted and put into motion, under certain driving conditions such as very slow vehicle manoeuvres, there may be insufficient initial braking assist, which could temporarily increase the stopping distance. Dealers will replace the check valve.
2009 Mercedes-Benz ML-Class
Vehicles affected: 1,422
On certain vehicles, a faulty taillight seal can allow water to enter the rear compartment containing the spare tire. On vehicles equipped with the optional power liftgate, the control unit is located close to the spare tire compartment, and water contamination can eventually disable the power liftgate motor. This could also cause an electrical short circuit, which could result in a vehicle fire. Dealers will replace the seal and reposition the power liftgate control unit.
