Mississauga, Ontario – Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada (MMSCAN) plans to raise more than $500,000 over the next three months in support of the international charity Right To Play. The goal will bring MMSCAN’s total donation to $1.5 million since 2008.

Clara Hughes, six-time Olympic medalist and Canadian flag bearer at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, launched the 2010 campaign, which will see $100 from every new Mitsubishi vehicle sold in Canada from April 1 to the end of June donated directly to Right To Play. In the last two years, MMSCAN raised a total of $976,000 in the three-month sales periods each year.

“Those donations represent a tremendous achievement,” said Koji Soga, president and CEO of MMSCAN. “At its core, the Right To Play challenge is all about giving back to the community and the world. Everyone at MMSCAN strives to make this donation as large as possible.”

Right To Play, the official charity of MMSCAN, operates in 23 countries and is headquartered in Toronto. It uses sport and play programs to improve health, build life skills and foster peace for children and communities affected by war, poverty and disease.
