“My MINI turns a lot of heads everywhere I go. I love it – I want to keep it!” explained Andree Mayette, Montreal’s winner who took delivery of her Chili red MINI, Number 9 out of 500 Launch Edition MINIs. “It’s practical, comfortable inside and very safe. When I’m out with my MINI, people are fascinated with it, they want to see it up close and always ask lots of questions.”

Ms. Mayette has taken every opportunity to enjoy her new MINI, and has big plans for a summer road trip. “I’m looking forward to driving out East with my boyfriend for a few weeks. I’ve already put over 1,000 km on my MINI – surely everyone in Montreal has seen it!

Toronto’s winner, David Airdrie, can’t wait to get in the driver’s seat of his Silver MINI, Launch Edition Number 8 when he picks it up later this month. “First of all, I couldn’t believe I won – I was totally in awe,” Airdrie explains, “The new MINI’s size is impressive: its’ bigger than the old one and the interior is very comfortable. I’m looking forward to experiencing the handling, and taking my best friend – a MINI nut – for a drive!”

Over 900 MINIs were sold even before the 14 retailers opened for business on March 22, 2002. Since then, 202 MINI Coopers and MINI Coopers S have been delivered to their owners.

The 115 horsepower MINI Cooper is sold in Canada for $24,950 and the 163 horsepower supercharged MINI Cooper S is priced at $29,600. Both models feature a 1.6 litre, 4-cylinder engine.

MINI Canada, a division of BMW Group Canada, has fourteen dealers across Canada.
