Michelin selects two new U.S. destinations for its Guides

Paris, France – Michelin has announced that it will expand its hotel and restaurant guide series in North America to include Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The new guides will be available in November 2007.

The Michelin Guide Los Angeles will cover Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Westwood, Downtown, Santa Monica, Ventura Blvd. and Pasadena, while Michelin Guide Las Vegas will include Las Vegas Blvd. and Downtown, as well as areas east and west of the Strip.

Published by the tire manufacturer, the Michelin Guide is currently published in 15 editions covering 21 countries. In 2005, the Guides were expanded from Europe to include New York City, and in 2006, to San Francisco. Earlier this month Michelin announced it will also enter the Asian market with the Michelin Guide Tokyo 2008.

For Los Angeles and Las Vegas, the Guides will provide a selection and rating in all categories of comfort and prices for area restaurants and hotels, in a reader-friendly layout produced especially for the American market. Currently, European and American Michelin inspectors are conducting anonymous inspections of establishments in the two cities.
