Las Vegas, Nevada – Michelin has honoured three students, including one from Alberta, with scholarships in recognition of their commitment to their local communities. The announcement was made at the annual membership meeting of the Tire Industry Association (TIA) in Las Vegas.
The Michelin/TIA scholarship program is open to part-time employees, or dependents of full-time employees of TIA member organizations who are pursuing a post-secondary education. To be considered, a student must demonstrate excellence in academic performance in the classroom, active participation in extracurricular activities at school, and contribution to the local community through leadership in civic organizations.
The scholarships went to John Gruninger of Magrath, Alberta; Aloiya Earl of Lambertville, Michigan; and Michael bates of Salisbury, North Carolina.
