Mercedes makes changes to 2008 R-Class

Stuttgart, Germany – For the first time, the 2008 Mercedes-Benz R-Class will be available as a five-passenger model with a second a second row of seats for three people and no third row seats. As an option, two individual seats can be added at the rear to transform the R-Class into a seven-seater. Currently, it’s offered only as a six passenger model with three rows and six bucket seats.
In the new five-passenger model, the rear centre seat can be turned into a centre armrest. The second seat row has space for three child seats or child restraint systems: the outer seats are equipped with ISOFIX attachment points and come with the option of side airbags to further improve passive safety. All five seats are fitted with three-point seat belts.
The 2008 R-Class model also receive revised front and rear styling, and new 18-inch alloy wheels on V6 models, and 19-inch wheels on V8 models.
