Mercedes debuts all-new C-Class

Stuttgart, Germany – Mercedes-Benz has presented the world premiere of its all-new C-Class in Germany, at a special event in front of 600 international journalists. The model is Mercedes’ best-selling series.

“With the new C-Class, we are yet again raising the bar in this important segment of the market, and that’s true right across the board, especially in terms of safety, comfort and agility,” says Dr. Dieter Zetsche, CEO of DaimlerChrysler AG. “With its unique balance of driving characteristics, the fourth C-Class generation embodies a new driving culture in the compact premium car segment. We are thus offering our customers the most versatile and majestic C-Class of all time, and, for the first time, in two attractive outfits.”

The new C-Class is the first Mercedes sedan to feature equipment lines with different faces. In the more traditional Elegance and Classic models, the star is found on the hood, while in the sportier models, it is in the centre of the radiator grille.

The new model features adaptive braking system from the S-Class and the Intelligent Light System with five automatic lighting functions. Standard features include seven airbags and active head restraints, and is available with the company’s Pre-Safe anticipatory occupant protection system.

In Europe, the C-Class will be available with three gasoline engines and a four-cylinder diesel variant.
