Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG receives more awards

Stuttgart, Germany – The Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG has picked up two new awards. It beat eight contenders to be named “Car of the year 2003” by the “Robb Report” magazine, while the television motoring magazine “Motor Week” voted it “Best Dream Machine”.

The “Robb Report”, the luxury lifestyle magazine, praised the SL 55 AMG as a “rare, achingly beautiful car that makes every journey a combination of fun and satisfaction.” The jurors also noted that its supercharged AMG eight-cylinder engine delivering 500 horsepower, “gives you all its epic power at any speed, in any gear”. In summing up they described the car as “The ultimate combination of style and performance.”

The SL 55 AMG has also received the “Best Dream Machine” award from the US motoring programme “Motor Week”. The leading TV motoring show voted the roadster into first place ahead of numerous competitor models.
