New York, New York – Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its 2012 E63 AMG, which features a new and more powerful 5.5-litre V8 Biturbo engine, at the New York International  Auto Show.

The new E63 AMG is part of the company’s AMG Performance 2015 model strategy. Using the same new 5.5-litre V8 as in the 2012 CLS63 AMG, the new engine can produce either 518 or 550 horsepower, together with an impressive reduction in fuel consumption that is up to 22 per cent less based on the European driving cycle.

The E63 AMG also uses a newly-developed electromechanical AMG speed-sensitive sports steering system, which only draws power during steering wheel movements.

The 2012 E63 AMG will go on sale this fall.
