Mercedes-Benz offers trailer stability assist

Stuttgart, Germany – Mercedes-Benz has announced that, as of late August 2005, the M-Class will be equipped with a new Trailer Stability Assist (TSA). This is an extra function incorporated into the electronic stability program (ESP) and is designed to offer drivers greater safety when towing a trailer.

TSA is capable of detecting fishtail motion from the trailer by using the ESP’s sensory system. It then initiates precise brake applications at the front wheels to stabilize the car and trailer.
