As automakers begin to focus more attention on the Consumer Electronics Show, more concepts aim to Las Vegas reveals as a means to show new technologies to the public. Mercedes-Benz is no exception as it revealed its new F 015 Luxury in Motion concept at the show today.

The autonomous vehicle, which Mercedes likens to “a private retreating space”, shows where the German company plans to take autonomous vehicle technologies and experiences in the future. The vehicle gives occupants the option of driving or taking a break as they lounge in one of the seats doing something else.

“Anyone who focuses solely on the technology has not yet grasped how autonomous driving will change our society. The car is growing beyond its role as a mere means of transport and will ultimately become a mobile living space,” explains Dr Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars.
