Kingston, Ontario – Mercedes-Benz Canada has announced a new stand-alone facility, Van Herpt Motors, in Kingston, Ontario. Dealer Principal Al van Herpt and Mercedes-Benz Canada president Marcus Breitschwerdt jointly broke ground to mark the official beginning of construction.

The new dealership will be built at 1432 Bath Road in Kingston, and will also sell the Smart brand.

Van Herpt Motors has operated in Kingston since 1954 and has always been a family-owned and operated business. The company first aligned with Mercedes in 1993, and sold it and another brand at one location on Portsmouth Avenue. The new facility is expected to open in November 2008 as a full-fledged sales, parts and service dealership.
