Melissa Etheridge partners with Ford to fight breast cancer
Dearborn, Michigan – Ford has partnered with singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge to release a new single to help raise funds for breast cancer research.
Etheridge, diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, wrote “I Run For Life”. She also appears in a public service announcement on behalf of Ford, which raised more than US$2.4 million in 2004 through its “Get Tied To The Cause” campaign. Over its 11-year commitment, Ford has raised nearly US$85 million.
The song will be available for 99 cents through iTunes on www.fordcares.com. In October, 80 per cent of the download price will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and 20 per cent to Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation. The public service announcement can also be viewed or emailed to others through the Web site.
