Richmond Hill, Ontario – Mazda Motor Corporation will debut two new variations of the all-new Mazda3 at the Geneva International Motor Show in March. The company will debut the Mazda3 with i-stop, and the MPS high-performance flagship model, which will be sold in North America as the Mazdaspeed3.
The Mazda3 with i-stop uses a 2.0-litre DISI (Direct Injection Spark Ignition) and a start-stop system at idle, which help the new model achieve a fuel economy improvement of approximately 12 per cent over the current European Mazda3.
The Mazda3 MPS carries forward the 2.3-litre DISI turbocharged engine and builds on the popularity and recognition of the previous model.
“These two models add extra value to an all-new Mazda3 lineup that has already shown strong appeal,” said program manager Yoshiyuki Maeda. “The new Mazda3 series takes a significant step ahead in both the realms of driving performance and environmental technology to lead the way toward a new generation of motoring.”
