Mazda3 and Ford F-Series hold top sales spots for May

Toronto, Ontario – The Mazda3 topped passenger car sales while the Ford F-Series pickup outsold the competition in May 2005, according to figures released by industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers.

The top ten passenger vehicles in Canada for May 2005 were the Mazda3, Honda Civic sedan and coupe, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Echo, Pontiac Sunfire, Ford Focus, Toyota Matrix, Chevrolet Cobalt, Hyundai Elantra and Chevrolet Impala.

Among light trucks, the top ten were Ford F-Series, Dodge Caravan, GMC Sierra, Dodge Ram pickup, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Uplander, Pontiac Montana SV6, Ford Freestar, Ford Escape and Ford Econoline.

In year-to-date sales to the end of May 2005, the top ten passenger cars were Honda Civic sedan and coupe, Mazda3, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Echo, Pontiac Sunfire, Ford Focus, Honda Accord, Toyota Matrix, Pontiac Grand Am and Toyota Camry.

Among trucks, year-to-date sales went to Ford F-Series, Dodge Caravan, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Silverado, Dodge Ram pickup, Chevrolet Uplander, Ford Escape, Pontiac Montana SV6, Ford Freestar and Honda CR-V.
