Mazda announced that its Biante “high-roof” minivan went on sale in Japan today. Mazda hopes to sell 3,000 examples per month; the Biante was developed specially for the Japanese market.
The Biante is available with either 2.0-litre direct-injected or 2.3-litre four-cylinder engines, both matched to automatic transmissions. A front-wheel drive version uses a five-speed automatic, while all-wheel drive Biantes are sold with a four-speed transmission.
Mazda says the Biante has best-in-class interior space and a flexible seating arrangement that complements the van’s “distinctive, athletic styling and superb driving performance.”
