Richmond Hill, Ontario – Mazda has announced that the completely redesigned 2012 Mazda5 six-passenger multi-purpose vehicle will have a starting price of $21,795 when it goes on sale in Canada in January 2011.

The 2012 Mazda5 features an all-new 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, producing 157 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque, mated to a new six-speed manual transmission or optional five-speed automatic. The Mazda5 will be offered in GS or GT trim, with an available option package for each. The GT’s Luxury Package will include heated leather seats and power sunroof.

The company has sold over 50,000 Mazda5 models since its introduction as a 2006 model, and after the Mazda3, is Mazda’s best-selling nameplate.
