Maybach introduces 62 S
Stuttgart, Germany – Maybach has announced the fourth variant of its line-up, the newly-developed 62 S, which features a 12-cylinder engine developing 612 hp. The company says it is the world’s most powerful chauffeur-driven sedan currently in series production.
The new flagship model will make its world premiere at Auto China 2006, an international motor show in Beijing in November.
Distinguishing features on the 62 S include a modified front end with redesigned grille, 20-inch spoked wheels, modified light cluster design and 62 S badges. The car also features S-specific single-tone paintwork in black, silver or white. Power is supplied by a Mercedes AMG-enhanced V12 engine that delivers 62 hp more than the Maybach 62, and uses a twin turbocharger and water-type intercooler, with zero-to-100 km/h acceleration of 5.2 seconds.
While the 57 S model has a sportier configuration for owner-drivers, the 62 S retains full spring travel for better ride comfort.
