May is National Car Care Month

Burlington, Ontario – May is National Car Care Month, as reported by Pennzoil-Quaker State Canada. The company reminds Canadian drivers that proper maintenance means safe driving and increased fuel efficiency.

The company suggests that checking tire pressure, changing oil and filters, and checking oil, power steering, brake and transmission fluids can help avoid repairs and have a major impact on fuel mileage. Improperly inflated tires, clogged air filters, worn spark plugs and faulty, loose or missing fuel caps all contribute to higher fuel consumption. As well, aggressive driving can increase fuel consumption by five per cent on city streets and up to 33 per cent on highways.
