Frankfurt, Germany – Maserati has presented the international debut of its GranCabrio, the first four-seater convertible in the company’s history, at the Frankfurt International Auto Show. The new model now completes Maserati’s product lineup of Quattroporte, GranTurismo and GranCabrio, offering a sedan, coupe and convertible.
The new GranCabrio uses a 4.7-litre V8 engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with Sport mode, producing 433 horsepower. Its newly-designed body includes aluminum hood and cross beams, while the trunk lid is made from SMC, or sheet moulding compound. The GranCabrio also features Maserati’s first use of hydraulic brake assist, which optimizes brake performance both in frequent use and in emergency situations.
The roof is made of canvas, linking with Maserati’s tradition, with three layers to improve acoustics and foul-weather driving. Other features include a Bose audio system, standard Skyhook suspension, and complete customization by owners. It will go on sale worldwide next spring.
Maserati also announced the new Executive GT kit for the Quattroporte, featuring new 19-inch Executive Design wheels, Argento brake calipers, heated and ventilated rear seats with massage function, side window blinds, rear climate control, and new interior materials, including Moonwood trim, Pearl Beige leather, Alcantara roof, and wood and leather steering wheel.
