Malcolm Bricklin to import Chinese cars to North America

New York, New York – Malcolm Bricklin, of Bricklin sports car fame, has formed an automobile import/distribution company to import a line of vehicles from China in 2007. His company, Visionary Vehicles LLC, announced the agreement with Chery Automobile Company.

Plans for the 2007 model year include an entry-level compact sedan, a mid-size sedan, a crossover-type sedan, sport and luxury coupe, and an SUV.

Bricklin said these vehicles will be priced 30% below comparable models currently being sold in the marketplace and will have a warranty equal to the best in the industry: 10-years/100,000 miles.

Bricklin previously founded Subaru of America; manufactured and distributed the Bricklin SV-1 sports car; and imported the Italian-made Pininfarina Spyder and Bertone X1-9 sports cars. In 1984, he founded Yugo America.

Visionary Vehicles and Chery are targeting sales of 250,000 vehicles in its launch year.
