MADD Canada tracks Memories in Motion Tour
Oakville, Ontario – MADD Canada has announced its Web site is tracking the Memories in Motion Tour, following a Cape Breton man as he cycles across Canada in honour of a friend killed by an impaired driver.
Ian Chiasson began his odyssey across Canada last week in memory of his best friend, Michael George MacLean. On May 14, 2004, Michael and Angela Marie Smits were killed by an impaired driver in St. Peter’s, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Chiasson is riding for his friend and to honour the memories of all those killed by impaired driving.
The tour started in Victoria, B.C. with the local MADD Chapter hosting a send-off party. Chiasson is expected to complete his trek in mid-August in his home community of Sydney, Nova Scotia. He will bicycle through nine provinces and camp alongside the Trans-Canada Highway.
The tour is being tracked by MADD Cape Breton Chapter and can be followed at MADD.ca.
