Lynn Johnston’s “Farley” to be featured on Ontario license plates

Milton, Ontario – Farley, a sheepdog once featured in the popular Canadian comic strip “For Better Or For Worse”, will be available on Ontario license plates from the Ministry of Transportation, starting March 26. Farley will be featured in his Farley Foundation logo; the charitable organization assists seniors and disabled individuals to access emergency veterinary care for their pets, and will receive a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each plate.

The plates can be purchased through the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario via MTO issuing offices, MTO Service Ontario kiosk machines (usually found in shopping malls) or online at the MTO website, by clicking on Drivers & Vehicles, then on Ministry Online Services.

The plates will be available as a regular license plate number with the logo, personalized plates with the logo and the driver’s chosen plate number or word, or with the logo, the letters FF and a designated number.

The Farley Foundation was established in 2001 by the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association; since then, the Foundation has distributed over $250,000 to assist more than 800 pets.
