Like we predicted this summer, Ford will be giving the Chinese market a little more choice
At a pre-show Ford event in Los Angeles, Jim Farley officially confirmed our prediction there will be a long-wheelbase three-row Ford Edge, but it will only be built and sold in China.
A source told us this summer that Ford was working on a variant of the then-newly shown Edge at the ‘Going Further with Ford’ event in Detroit.
“We’re going to build a very specific three-row Edge for China,” Farley said at the pre-show event. “It’s a really bright spot for our company.”
Ford is going all-in on utilities in China as the Blue Oval expects Chinese consumers to make the region the largest SUV market in the world by 2018.
