Lincoln Navicross concept is a crossover luxury vehicle

Detroit, Michigan – Gerry McGovern, design director, Lincoln Mercury, said the Navicross concept car is intended to further develop the Lincoln design DNA and to explore what a uniquely Lincoln crossover vehicle could look like.

The Navicross is based on a modified Lincoln LS platform and deploys a full-time all-wheel-drive system with an adaptive traction control system. The sedan has coupe looks with center opening B-pillarless rear doors.

McGovern said defining the Navicross with traditional vehicle segment descriptions is difficult because it is designed neither as a sport coupe, sport sedan, nor a sport utility, yet serves many of the purposes of all three.

“Navicross demonstrates that the Lincoln vision can be both restrained and dramatic, providing an emotional and compelling outlook on the future of Lincoln’s product range,” he said.
