Toronto, Ontario – Lexus Canada will recall approximately 3,700 GS, IS and LS models that may have foreign material contaminating the engine valve springs.
The recall affects certain 2006, 2007 and 2008 models powered by 4.6- and 5.0-litre V8 engines, and 3.5-litre V6 engines.
Vehicles affected by the condition may experience abnormal engine noise or idling, and in extremely rare instances, may stall while the vehicle is operating. Lexus said it has received no reports of crashes, injuries or cases related to this condition, and no 2009 or 2010 vehicles are affected.
Owners can continue to drive their vehicles, but should be taken to a Lexus dealership for service if symptoms such as vibration, rough idling, unusual engine sounds or poor performance are noticed. Owners of involved vehicles will receive a recall notice by mail.
