The build-up to the launch of the Land Rover Discovery Sport is gaining momentum, with another Jaguar/Land Rover video production teasing new details of the compact sport utility’s interior.
The Discovery Sport will replace the LR2 here in Canada, and could be available with a 2.0L turbocharged four cylinder – the same engine found in the Evoque. European outlets report that the Sport may come with the all-new Ingenium petrol and diesel engine line up including a 2.0L petrol engine and a 2.2L diesel.
It was first glimpsed when the Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept was unveiled in New York and Beijing, complete with invisible car technology.
The video confirms that the Discovery will be available with seven seats in a 2-3-2 configuration, and alludes to the technology-rich HMI and infotainment system Land Rover intends to fit this car with.
The short clip also buys heavily into the newly formed relationship with Virgin Galactic, offering a space-inspired motif which will likely be carried through to the reveal.
It is unlikely that the “invisible car technology” unveiled early this year will make it to the Discovery Sport.
An online-video launch will officially announce the Discovery Sport on September 2.
