Seoul, South Korea – GM Korea has built the first all-new Chevrolet Malibu, with sales starting next month in Korea, the car’s initial market.

The company’s plant in Bupyeong is the first in the world to build the eighth-generation Malibu, which will be the brand’s new top-of-range offering in global markets.

“The new Malibu is our most important product introduction of the year,” said Mike Arcamone, president and CEO of GM Korea. “It will play a significant role in enabling us to attain our goals in the domestic market while ensuring that GM Korea becomes an important part of Chevrolet’s success in its second century.”

The Bupyeong #2 plant is GM Korea’s centre for the production of midsize passenger cars. The new model will have the plant operating at full capacity.
