Victoria, British Columbia – “Know before you go” can make driving safer in British Columbia, as drivers are reminded to check current highway conditions online through some of the 166 highway cams located around the province or through other traffic notifications.
“From our webcams with a real-time look at highway conditions to our Twitter feeds of up-to-date highway information, we’re making available every resource possible to motorists so they can make safe travel choices,” said Shirley Bond, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister. “We want you to ‘know before you go’ and arrive safely at your destination.”
Drivers can check current highway conditions on the Ministry’s Web site at DriveBC. An additional nine highway webcams will be online before Christmas.
