Toronto, Ontario – Kia Canada is a contributor to a newly-refurbished soccer pitch in Toronto, along with Toronto FC, the Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) Team Up Foundation, and Toronto’s Parks, Forestry and Recreation department.

The pitch, in Sorauren Park, represents the sixth sports facility this year to benefit from MLSE’s hockey rink, basketball court and soccer pitch legacy program.  The upgrades and improvements are an investment of more than $60,000.

Toronto FC players hosted youth from the Sorauren Park Association during the opening event, which marked the first community appearance of the full “new-look” Toronto FC squad.

“Kia Canada’s commitment is to ‘drive change’ by helping to improve communities in Canada,” said Maria Soklis, vice-president and COO of Kia Canada. “We are proud to assist with the refurbishment at Sorauren Park because it will foster an environment where youth can engage in sports and acquire a skill set to support them in future.”
