Mississauga, Ontario – Kia Canada will participate in the Targa Newfoundland rally for the second year in a row, and partner with MADD Canada by sponsoring its school assembly program implemented to reduce impaired driving.

Driver Jacques Deshaies and co-pilot Shaun Keenan will drive a race-prepped Kia Forte Koup donated by Kia Canada. They will represent Team Designated Drivers and race under number 99, referencing the year in which Kia Canada was established. The car has been specially wrapped to debut MADD Canada’s “I pledge to drive safe and sober” campaign.

As the presenting sponsor of the 2011-2012 School Assembly Program, Kia will donate the use of eight vehicles to MADD Canada to be used by field representatives travelling to schools and by chapters across the country to promote local activities and events.

After competing in the Targa rally, the Forte Coupe will tour many of Canada’s auto shows in the Kia Canada displays.
