Kia may build a factory in Georgia, report says
Irvine, California – Kia Motors is expected to announce plans for its first U.S. manufacturing plant, which may be in southwestern Georgia, according to a report from British news agency Auto News.
The site believed to be most likely is within 160 km of parent company Hyundai Motors’ assembly plant in Montgomery, Alabama, and is close to a number of Hyundai suppliers. A spokesman at the company’s U.S. headquarters in California reportedly said the company will make an announcement “by the end of the quarter”.
