Ann Arbor, Michigan – Kia Canada has officially launched the all-new 2011 Forte5-Door, a new model in the Kia Forte compact sedan and Forte Koup lineup.
“The Forte5-Door is another key ingredient to the design-led transformation that Kia Motors is currently in the midst of,” said Maria Soklis, chief operating officer of Kia Canada Inc. “The Forte5-Door provides Canadians the practicality and utility that is expected from our already successful Forte lineup.”
The Forte5-Door is available with an efficient 2.0-litre four-cylinder or sporty 2.4-litre four-cylinder, both featuring a six-speed manual transmission or available six-speed automatic transmission. The new six-speed transmissions will be used in all Forte models for 2011.
The LX model uses the 2.0-litre engine and starts at $16,695. The mid-range SX trim also uses the 2.0-litre and starts at $19,195. The SX, which uses the 2.4-litre four-cylinder, starts at $22,495. Depending on the model, standard or available features include a telescopic steering wheel, windshield wiper de-icer, heated seats, leather upholstery, navigation system, pushbutton ignition and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Forte5-Door LX with manual transmission is rated at 9.2 L/100 km in city driving and 6.2 L/100 km on the highway. An Eco-minder in the instrument cluster on automatic-equipped models indicates when the vehicle is being driven at its optimal fuel efficiency.
