New flagship model will get V6 and V8 engine options
Kia will be following in its big brother’s footsteps in bringing a Equus-like flagship sedan to the US (and probably Canadian) markets early next year. But, it will be wearing a different nameplate from its global brethren, reports Automotive News.
Sold in other markets as the K9 and Quoris, Kia will launch the car in the North American market as the K900. The flagship model will see two engines on the order sheet – a 3.8L MPI V6 with 290 hp and a 5.0L Tau V8 with 420 hp.
In the US, only dealers willing to invest in upgrades to their showrooms will be allowed to sell the K900. It’s expected to carry a MSRP of around $50,000.
