Arlington, Virginia – The 2010 Kia Forte has earned a Top Safety Pick designation from the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It is the third model from Hyundai/Kia to earn the top rating, following the Kia Soul and Hyundai Sonata.

To win, vehicles must earn the top rating of “good” for front, side, rollover and rear impact protection, and have electronic stability control.

The Top Safety Pick applies to 2010 Forte models build after October 2009, when Kia made changes to the rear door structure. Prior models earned an “acceptable” rating for side impact crash testing.
