Kia Canada’s vehicle sales almost doubled in 2001
Like a runaway freight train, Kia Canada’s auto sales surged to a total of 26,013 for calendar 2001, an increase of 95% over the 13,343 sales of the previous year.
Leading the charge were Kia’s Rio Sedan and 5-door Hatchback registering 9,900 units against 2,444 in 2000 for a 305% jump in sales.
“The combination of four exciting new models backed by Kia’s industry leading 5 – 5 – 5 Extra Care Warranty program and a strong national dealer network provided the foundation for this huge and rapid growth in our sales,” said Paul Beattie, Kia Canada’s Director of Sales. “Car buyers today are more knowledgeable and shopping for vehicles that pack the most value into a product that best satisfies their lifestyle and budgets.”
Kia Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Kia Motors Corporation, sells and distributes the Rio and Rio RX-V sub-compact sedan, Spectra and Spectra GSX compact sedan, Magentis mid-size luxury sedan, the Sedona mini-van and the Sportage 4×4 Sport Utility models through 142 dealers nationwide.
