Pebble Beach, California – Jaguar unveiled new versions of its XK sports cars this week. The new 2003 model year Jaguar XK coupe and convertibles, which go on sale October 1st, have minor styling revisions but significant powertrain and technology upgrades. These include:

  • Two new, more powerful 4.2-liter V8 engines
  • 390 horsepower supercharged V8 for the XKR models
  • ZF 6-speed transmission
  • Dynamic Stability Control standard
  • Emergency Brake Assist standard
  • Adaptive Restraint Technology System (intelligent airbag deployment) standard
  • Adaptive Cruise Control optional
  • High Intensity Discharge Xenon headlights on supercharged XKR models
  • Race-bred Brembo brakes on the supercharged XKR models

“Our customers choose the XK sports car for very personal reasons and the strong statement in style it makes,” commented Mike O’Driscoll, President, Aston Martin Jaguar Land Rover North America. “The extensive use of relevant new technology and the quality inherent in these new 2003 versions make the XK a very rational purchase as well as an emotional one”.
