Gaydon, Warwickshire, England – Jaguar Land Rover China (JLR) has opened a new parts distribution centre in Suzhou, China, the company’s largest in Asia Pacific.
The centre will facilitate the expansion of a sales and service network in the Chinese market, and allow rapid response to dealer and customer orders in China. It covers a combined total of more than 11,000 square metres and is capable of supporting 2,000 outbound lines per day, and a total of 42,000 part numbers.
“Sales of our vehicles in China have been growing rapidly over recent years,” said managing director Chris Brown. “For Land Rover, China is now established as our fifth-largest market in the world. The facilities have been developed to incorporate the projected growth in the China market over the coming years.”
The centre is the sole import point for JLR aftermarket product into China, and will also become the Asia Pacific hub later this year, capable of supplying other markets including Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Korea, Thailand and others. In 2008, JLR set sales records of 12,456 vehicles, with a growth rate of 63 per cent.
