Toronto, Ontario – The Jaguar Concept C-X16 has made its only Canadian appearance at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto.
The car was presented by Ian Callum, Jaguar’s global director of design.
The C-X16 concept is a bold statement of Jaguar’s future design and technological intent, the company said. It uses the traditional front-engine, rear-wheel drive formula and reinvents it for the 21st century with a performance-oriented hybrid drivetrain. Its supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine produces 380 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, mated to an eight-speed transmission. Its hybrid system, activated by a “push to pass” button on the steering wheel, can boost power by another 95 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque.
